The watercolors are flowing

I hope everyone is having a nice day today.  We are getting more rain here in NW Ohio, that means happy plants but that also means the exterior house painting must continue to wait.

I’m not sure if I have shared this next watercolor out here or not, this was painted last year.

Cut Flowers

As I was going through my boxes of finished art today this piece really jumped out at me.  This was one of my early attempts with loose/abstract watercolors, and to be honest I’m not sure why I haven’t framed this and hung it on the wall.  I really like the old school vibe this one has.  I think as artists there are pieces we create that really work and connect with the story we are trying to tell, I gotta say this one really hits a high note for me.  I’m not sure why I haven’t painted more like this.

I also updated my Etsy store today, I have a few new pieces posted including the crabapple below.  I don’t think I am going to sell the flowers pictured above!

The rigger brush really gave this one a nice illustrated feel without needing to use pencils or pens.  I just love the movement this brush adds to the watercolor.  It gives it a little more energy and excitement.

I am running a spring sale on my Etsy site, it’s 25% off your purchase, the coupon is good through May 11th.  This is the link for the coupon code – https://www.etsy.com/shop/erikrdavis?coupon=SPRING89UA
And this is the link to my Esty store – https://www.etsy.com/shop/erikrdavis

That’s all for today.  Thank you, everyone, again for visiting my site, reading my rambles, and hopefully being enticed enough to purchase one, or more, of my watercolors!

Take care…Erik
